Is it hard to adapt to life at a boarding school?

To answer that question, we'll defer to Lauren, who has a message for all prospective students: "I know it's going to be really hard to adjust at first, and you'll miss your family and friends back home. But these people at All Saints' will become your family. Just maintain a positive attitude and you'll love it here."

When was All Saints' established?

In 1908, All Saints' began as an all-girls college. Today, All Saints' is a co-educational boarding and day school for students in grades 7-12. The Episcopal Dioceses of Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Western Louisiana govern the school.

What is the student-teacher ratio?

It varies year to year but is typically 8:1.

Is All Saints' accredited?

Yes. The Southern Association of Colleges and Schools accredits All Saints' Episcopal School.

Do students have to be Episcopalian to attend All Saints'?

No. All Saints' admits students of any religion, race, nationality, or ethnicity.

Are there international students at All Saints'?

Yes. All Saints' admits students from many countries and provides an English as a Second Language program. International students must have a TOEFL score for admissions consideration.

Does All Saints' have church services?

Yes. All Saints' has church services on Thursday and Sunday mornings. Although Episcopal liturgy is followed in the services, the development of each student's inner spirit and personal wholeness is the primary focus.

How does the school administer discipline?

All Saints' has a highly structured, loving rule of life that fosters self-accountability and discipline. Students are evaluated every week on all parts of their lives, and constructive measures are offered to help them meet clearly articulated expectations in and out of the classroom.

Does All Saints' admit students with behavior problems, substance abuse, or other problems requiring clinical support?

No. All Saints' does not have clinical programs or therapeutic services to support these students.

Can students have a computer in their rooms?

Yes. Students may have computers in their rooms. However, Internet access is limited to a carefully monitored computer lab.

Are students required to wear uniforms?

Yes. All Saints' students are required to wear uniforms. Authorized polo shirts, pants, shorts, skorts, and cullotes from the designated supplier are available in all solid colors. Belts required in all slacks/shorts/skirts that have belt loops. Shirttails must be long enough to remain tucked in during the entire school day.

Are students permitted to leave campus on weekends and other occasions?

Yes. School-sponsored activities often take students off campus under close supervision by faculty and staff. Students may leave at other times only with prior permission of the school administration.

How do students maintain ties with family and friends?

Students keep in touch with family and friends by spending time with them during holidays and extended weekends. Parents may also schedule visits with their children at All Saints'.

What sports does All Saints' offer?

Most traditional sports are offered. Although teams compete in school and church leagues, All Saints' emphasizes total student participation. Non-traditional activities such as boomer ball, omni kin, ultimate Frisbee, cricket ball, fencing, rock climbing, archery, disc golf, and field hockey are also available. A fitness-for-life program is required for all students.
