All Saints' has a reputation as a demanding college preparatory school. However, the education here is not limited to
traditional core subjects like English, Math, Science, and History. Classes in Drama, Filmmaking, Screenwriting, and
Studio Art are equally rigorous; they prepare interested students for higher education in a creative field and provide
a venue for self-expression. Many students already know they have a flair for the arts, so they come to All Saints'
to pursue their interests in art, music, drama, or creative writing. Others uncover their creative side here, and find
a new outlet for self-expression.
How can All Saints' creative arts program inspire your child?
Art: Design, basic drawing, painting, sculpture, ceramics, and photography classes enrich life at All Saints'.
In addition, students enjoy visits to museums and galleries and enter local art competitions.
Music: All Saints' offers private instruction in piano, voice, stringed instruments, brass, and woodwinds.
For an ensemble experience, students can join the advanced Vicksburg Chamber Choir, in addition to singing in the
school's choir. Professional musicians are often invited to perform on campus, and everyone enjoys attending concerts in the
area.
Creative Writing and Video Editing: All Saints' offers the opportunity for students to participate in several
creative writing workshops throughout the year. Published poets visit All Saints' and offer workshops on a variety of
literary genres from poetry to screenwriting. For the past three years, students at All Saints' have been national
winners in the River of Words Poetry Contest.
All Saints' also offers courses in Video Journalism and Digital Video Editing. This course familiarizes students with the
basic principles of shooting and editing digital video. This affords each student the creative opportunity to begin an
in-depth digital video as well as the practical experience using digital film equipment and editing software.
